SUMMARY OF KEY JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary purpose of this position is to carry out the formulation activities involved in creating bakery blends designed for the wholesale, retail, & foodservice industries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop new products as they relate to our business model. These products include bread, pastry, & cake bases, dough conditioners, shelf-life extenders, grain blends, etc. This includes test baking, sensory analysis, and process development.
- Generate documentation and reports as needed. This includes formulas/data sheets/recipes/summary of customer visits, etc.
- Recommend changes or improvements when necessary to improve and/or increase efficiencies & formulas.
- Follow all good manufacturing practices in the lab and maintain a clean work environment.
- Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by management.
JOB SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Know-How in in formulation of various types of breads, cakes, donuts, cookies, brownies etc. is preferred.
- Experience with (windows), Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented and willingness to learn.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive and effective working relationship with other employees.
- Ability to treat sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years working in the baking industry, and college degree is preferred.
