Food Safety Jobs

Food Safety is the field that regulates the food manufacturing and service industries to ensure food is safe to eat. Food safety experts can work for food manufacturers or for government bodies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In the private sector, food safety experts research how to improve food safety from production, to shipping, to handling, and serving. A job in food safety will probably require a diploma or degree in food science or a related field, as well as extensive safety and hygiene training. Some job titles include food safety coordinator, health and safety specialist, and food scientist.
