Food Inspector Jobs
Food Inspectors are responsible for enforcing the food safety standards set by regulating bodies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Inspectors must ensure that food processing companies and food service businesses comply with regulations that prevent foodborne illnesses and report any violations. A job as food inspector will require a degree in food science or environment, health, and safety (EHS). Federal positions require extensive training and the completion of written exams. Some job titles include food inspection specialist and health inspector.
