MRO Buyer
This position reports to the Director of Purchasing and is responsible for sourcing and securing all MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) goods and services; maintaining proper documentation for all MRO suppliers and products; contract negotiation.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Validate purchase requisitions by developing, soliciting and analyzing bids.
- Negotiate pricing, payment and delivery terms with approval from Director of Purchasing
- Issue purchase orders with proper authorization from Management
- Track, trace, expedite and follow up on late deliveries and missing systemic receipts
- Resolve discrepancies (i.e. damages, shortages, incorrect labeling, quality, etc.) with suppliers upon receipt of purchased goods/services or thereafter
- Request and manage returns, replacement orders, credits, refunds, etc.
- Establish effective inventory control programs while maintaining proper inventory levels of various stocked items
- Assist in obtaining vendor and product documentation, including but not limited to MRO vendor surveys, insurance, W-9’s, etc.
- Identify and vet new/alternate strategic sources of supply
- Identify and implement cost savings strategies
- Generate continuous improvement projects for processes
- Access multiple computer systems to enter and retrieve information
- Learn and perform the purchasing function to serve as a backup for the Purchasing Specialist and to assist in times of high demand
- Participate productively as a team member, contributing actively to the team process and executing tasks as required
- Understand and implement Company Certified programs such as HACCP, NSF, NOP, SQF, Food Defense and Food Safety and Food Quality programs as required

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Minimum of Associates’ Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or related field
Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience specifically with strong negotiating and sourcing skills.
Must possess a thorough understanding of contract agreements.
- 2-3 years of Procurement experience
- Storeroom operations experience a plus
- Manufacturing experience in a beverage/food industry preferred
- High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
