Overview:

Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, the Engagement Specialist is responsible for all employee engagement aspects through and beyond the introductory period and the full employee life cycle. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and leading new hire orientation. Along with assisting the Learning & Development Team at the plant level, engagement results will be measured, tracked and reported against the key business metrics selected to represent program effectiveness and success. While a member of the Learning & Development team, this position will have dotted line reporting to Plant Management and Human Resources as well.

Job Description:

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and follow through with all associates regarding engagement activities.
  • Conduct all new hire orientations within the facility
  • Assist the Learning & Development team member assigned to your facility
  • Work with the Learning and Development Specialist to determine the future state of development needs by individual locations
  • Assist in implementing a development plan individualized for each location that would be reviewed and approved by local plant leadership as well as the Learning and Development Manager
  • Review existing engagement activities/opportunities and provide recommendations
  • Review existing development programs design/delivery; identify recommendations for improvement
  • Be an active liaison between the Plant Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, and Associates
  • Be present in productions areas throughout the workday to develop relationships with employees and be receptive to feedback and voiced concerns, and gather information for recommended improvements/suggestions
  • Schedule and lead/coordinate all New Hire Orientations (NHO), including all documentation and tracking
  • File all learning & development documentation to ensure compliance as well as internal auditing
  • Assist in design and development of an effective operations development program for your facility. Work closely with the member(s) of the Learning & Development team assigned to your facility.
  • Lead and Supervisor Development Facilitation
  • Room set-up including snacks/drinks/accessories as necessary
  • Attendance tracking of all L&D sessions.
  • Scheduling and communication of sessions.
  • Assist in facilitating the successful rollout and implementation of all employee engagement activities and operations development programs, across all facilities
  • Drive continuous improvement of the engagement programs and development programs including, processes, procedures, and content.

 


Key Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be able to establish trust and working relationships at all levels.
  • Project management skills - tracking work-plans, milestones, deliverables, etc. Ability to take direction from their manager and work independently to achieve desired results. Identify contingency plans when issues arise. Provide frequent status reports (both written & oral) to key stakeholders. Ensure objectives are met on time, within budget.
  • Communication- adjusts to audience, ensures understanding, and facilitation skills required. Mastery of understanding of verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Collaboration/Partnering- able to establish and maintain collaborative partnership across all departments, specifically Plant Management, HR and Associates.
  • Associate Focused- ensure that associates needs are built into the solutions and processes.
  • Continuous Learning- Stays current and maintains a general understanding of learning resources and trends.
  • Flexibility - Able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, Publisher and Outlook.

 


Education and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, documentation are a must.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation skills.
  • Previous experience in working within a developmental environment is a must.
  • Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma along with equivalent experience, 3-5 years HR/Development experience preferred
