Reporting to:Plant Engineer
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervises workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment.Supervises employees who maintain, repair and service plant equipment, buildings, and facilities
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturingand maintenance operations toensure the mosteffective return on assets
- Initiateplans and processestominimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization ofmanpower, equipment, facilities, materialsand capital
- Utilizes working knowledge of electrical systems, both control and industrial wiring, pip fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls and instrumentation to maintain plant equipment at optimal level.
- Utilizes knowledge of automatic equipment operation to include setup, repair and tear downin order to maintain plant equipment at optimal levels, inspecting completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Maintain the plant Preventative Maintenance Records.
- Send out maintenance schedules on a weekly basis
- Responsiblefor all physical plant facilities, systemsand equipment
- Identify and monitor issues as theyarise and implement solutions
- Prepare engineering and maintenancedepartmentaloperating budgetsand control expenditures within approved budgets
- Responsible for supervising both minor and major capitalprojects
- Participate in the ongoingsupport of theProcessing Operating System
- Manage maintenance KPI expectations, environmental and energy initiatives
- Mentor and supervise the activities of technical and administrative staff with approximately 3 direct
reports and 19indirect reports as well as external service providers - Ensure safety compliance forbuildings, equipment and staff
- Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
- Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies
- Contributes to the on-going development of JBS Omaha's policies and procedures;
- Collaborate with operations for smooth operation of production floor.
Experience Required:
- 5 years? management experience and minimum 5 years maintenance experience preferablyin a food processing plant, butexperience ina highly regulated large industrialor manufacturing environment will be considered
- Extensive experience maintaining & managing building services/systems using contractors & staff
- Experience with WHMIS, Health & Safety; PMP and HACCP an asset
- Experience with quality improvement and riskmanagement processes an asset
- High School Diploma/GED equivalentpreferred but notrequired, college degree preferredbut not required
Skills/Abilities Required
- Must have a working knowledge ofpreventative maintenance, Powerhouse, facilities, equipment, machinery,refrigeration, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, ship machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls and instrumentation andPLC controls in a lean manufacturing environment
- Proven knowledge of building & fire codes, health & safety standards
- Demonstrated understanding of fiscal management principles including interpretation of financial statements, budgetplanning and variance control
- Strong computer skills (systems,MS Office, and others)
- Must be capable of becoming Haz-Mat team qualified
- Proven leadership and people management skills in a high paced,multicultural environment
