- Minimum of 5years of experience in engineering, with a focus on leadership roles.
Summary
The Engineering Manager will lead the Engineering Department at the Manufacturing site, overseeing the development of site project engineers and executing the site?s 5-year capital plan. This role involves managing capital projects, system upgrades, equipment installations, productivity improvements, facility infrastructure, wastewater, utilities, energy management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Engineering Manager also provides technical guidance and support to operations and the Plant Leadership Team.
Scope of Responsibility
As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, the Engineering Manager contributes technical expertise and strategic leadership to the operation. This position is responsible for managing the site?s technical services, including project engineering, systems engineering, and environmental engineering. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will oversee the plant?s capital and maintenance budgets, set strategies for the engineering team, and mentor 2-3 direct technical reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:Lead the technical team, fostering a cohesive and high-performing group that supports a lean manufacturing environment.
- Capital Planning:Develop, submit, and manage the Annual and 5-year Capital Plan, ensuring alignment with corporate Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) expectations.
- Project Management:Oversee the effective execution of the Annual Capital Plan, ensuring projects are integrated with safety, quality, operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Management:Maintain and manage technical relationships with vendors to ensure optimal site performance.
- Sustainability:Lead and support energy reduction efforts and sustainability initiatives across the site.
- Continuous Improvement:Utilize TPM-based Continuous Improvement tools, including Early Management, Root Cause Analysis, and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), to drive site improvements.
- Regulatory Compliance:Ensure the site meets or exceeds all environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
- Talent Development:Select, develop, and mentor technical leaders within the manufacturing site. Oversee technical personnel training and development.
- Corporate Alignment:Support and execute corporate policies and procedures at the site level, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
