Education/Experience
- Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related technicaldegree
- 3 5+ years of process/manufacturing engineering experience with aseptic/dairy processing (UHT systems, homogenizers, separators, filtration, mix-proof valves, pumps, motors)
- Strong knowledge of aseptic processing, dairy technologies, and CIP/SIP systems.
- Ability to develop conceptual designs, capital estimates, equipment sizing, and utility requirements.
- Experience with engineering calculations (OEE, accumulation, V-curves, staffing, material flows).
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SOPs, sanitation, and root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with PLCs and packaging equipment.
Aseptic Process Engineer
Role Overview
Leads process engineering standards and field execution for aseptic/UHT manufacturing lines. Requires deep expertise in Hot Fill, Cold Fill, and especially Aseptic/UHT processing unit operations, dairy manufacturing technologies, and packaging systems, with hands-on experience in design, start-up, and operations. Serves as the subject-matter expert for aseptic/UHT processing, thermal processes, equipment reliability, and maintenance programs while providing technical leadership and day-to-day direction to technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction and performance guidance to technicians.
- Act as SME for UHT/aseptic processing, thermal processes, product quality, and equipment reliability.
- Design and map piping systems for utilities, process lines, and CIP/SIP systems (routing, sizing, efficiency).
- Create, manage, and maintain P&IDs, engineering documentation, plant/packaging/process layouts, equipment specifications, and standards.
- Select pumps, valves, and process equipment to optimize performance and reliability.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for start-ups, cold starts, changeovers, cleaning, and sterilization.
- Support installation, commissioning, and start-up; coordinate with contractors/vendors; review drawings and obtain permits.
- Guide OEMs and contractors to meet specifications and standards.
- Improve line efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and downtime; partner on critical spare parts and preventive maintenance.
- Lead process-improvement initiatives; ensure proper documentation, permitting, and communication of all work.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and enforce safety protocols.
