YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role are to:

Design, develop, and execute novel in-planta disease and nematode assays for resistance gene evaluation via plant phenotyping and organism quantification;
Use specialized knowledge, current and pertinent scientific literature in relevant technologies, and consultations with subject-matter experts to identify solutions to complex assay development problems;
Communicate results in a timely and organized fashion to project team and key stakeholders through scientific reports and presentations;
May be responsible for performing multiple experimental protocols under supervision;
Prioritize and coordinates work within a matrixed testing environment maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation;
Achieves commitment to safety and compliance, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.?

WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications:

Enrollment in a master's or Ph.D. program in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Nematology, or a closely related Life Science degree;
Experience in culturing microbes or nematodes;
Practical experience designing and implementing experiments to evaluate plant disease phenotypes for growth chamber environments;
Proficient in microscopy techniques with plant tissue and microbes
Experience working in highly collaborative environment and effectively communicate research findings with audiences from diverse technical backgrounds;
Proficient at analyzing data and interpreting results from complex statistical designs.?

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $36.80 to $46.30. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
