Entomology Co-Op

• Support hemipteran insect diet and plant bioassays by developing new assays and improving existing assays using robust scientific approaches;
• Design, conducts and interprets complex entomological studies in lab, growth chamber and greenhouse environments;
• Identify process improvements, test, troubleshoot and provide solutions to technical problems;
• Apply critical thinking, strategic mindset, and foresight in evolving technical and business environments;
• Present final project(s)/recommendation(s) to team at the conclusion of the co-op

• Currently enrolled in a Master s or Ph.D. program pursuing a degree in Entomology, Plant Sciences, Molecular Biology, or related discipline;
• Working knowledge of insect rearing, hemipteran insects, RNAi, artificial diets;
• Ability to design, conduct, troubleshoot experiments, run basic statistics, and report results;
• Possess problem-solving skills and able to work both independently and as part of a team;
• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong background in plant-insect interactions, insect feeding behavior, insect physiology, RNAi, molecular biology;
• Experience with insect bioassays, insect dissections, transgenic cropping systems
