Please understand your education and experience must match our job listings for you to be considered.You must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident to be considered for any U.S. positions.There is NO closing date on this position.  This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is searching for a Working Ranch Manager to oversee the daily operations of a progressive cow/calf ranch in Missouri. The ideal candidate will be a highly capable, hands-on leader with a passion for livestock management, forage production, and ranch operations. This role requires a motivated individual who can operate independently, while maintaining close communication with the absentee owner and ensuring the ranch runs efficiently and profitably.Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, perform, and oversee all day-to-day operations of cow/calf ranch.
  • Manage pasture rotations, forage production, and hay operations.
  • Execute animal health monitoring, feeding, calving assistance, and processing.
  • Perform and coordinate maintenance of ranch infrastructure, fences, and equipment.
  • Monitor feed and forage inventory; coordinate ordering of supplies including hay and pellets.
  • Track and report daily activities including herd health, feed consumption, and facility status.
  • Supervise and assist with capital projects, vendor interactions, and seasonal tasks.
  • Ensure safety and security of team members, livestock, equipment, and facilities.
  • Perform duties in all weather and working conditions, including remote and rugged terrain.
  • Flex work hours seasonally, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Strong desire to be part of a dynamic, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Proven leadership and self-management skills in agricultural or ranch operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build strong relationships.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.
  • Valid driver s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Skilled in operating ranch equipment and machinery (tractors, trucks, balers, UTV/ATVs, pumps, etc.).
  • Experience in equipment maintenance, general repairs, and fencing; welding a plus.
  • Physically capable of demanding labor in varying weather and terrain.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience managing or assistant managing a cow/calf operation.
  • Knowledge of rotational grazing systems, pasture health, and livestock nutrition.
  • Familiarity with ranch record-keeping systems and basic budgeting principles.
