We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Cowboy/Pen Rider/Feedlot Assistant Manager with a minimum of 3 years of experience working on a ranch or feedlot in Texas. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of animal production, specifically in the beef industry.
Responsibilities:- Assisting in the daily operations of the feedlot, including feeding, medication administration, and health checks for cattle
- Riding pens to observe and identify sick or injured animals
- Sorting and handling cattle as needed
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the feedlot facilities
- Assisting in the management of feed and water supplies for cattle
- Providing support to the Feedlot Manager and other team members as needed
Qualifications:- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on a ranch or feedlot in Texas
- Knowledge of beef cattle production and herd health
- Ability to ride horses and work with cattle in a safe and efficient manner
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic computer skills for record keeping and data entry
- Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed
Salary$150.00 - $200.00 per day depending on experience plus housing for the right fit This is a full-time position in the animal production industry, specifically focused on beef cattle.
