
JOB SUMMARY
DFA/Kemps has an immediate job opening for a well-versed Utilities Technician to perform an array of functions including being
responsible forthe overall system functionality for the facility’s ammonia refrigeration system, Boilers, and Air compressors.
The UtilitiesTechnician installs and repairs industrial and commercial refrigerating systems according to blueprints and engineering specifications, using knowledge of refrigeration, structural layout, and function and design of components.
TheUtilitiesTechnician will alsobe responsible forassistingwithmaintainingthefacilitiesProcess Safety Management (PSM) program. The Utilities Technician will alsobe responsible forworking with contractors on the Utilities equipment.
Job Duties
*Maintainand perform preventative maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and compressed airsystems.
* Completeaccurateandtimelydocumentation of maintenance records.
*Observeand test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
* Is engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing refrigeration equipment.
*Maintaincommunication with other departments, management and employees andnotify themof any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
* Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, andaccurateformat, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documentedin accordance withSOP’s.
* Assist inmaintainingparts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to Supervisor
*Utilizingcontinuous improvement mindset,assistinidentifyingopportunities to improve processes. * Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
*Maintaina clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
* Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lockout/tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
* Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designatedarea.
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to managementimmediately.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

OUR UTILITIES TECHNICIANS MAKE:
- $37.50 - $43.54 Depending on Experience
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM & On Call every other Weekend

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 Years of experience directly working with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Have Ammonia Operator 1 Certificate or better
- Knowledge of Boilers and Steam Systems
- Boiler License preferred but not required
- Experience with air compressors preferred
- Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred
- Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment
