Position Summary:The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for executing preventative and emergent repairs and maintenance on company equipment and facilities. This role supports equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and ensures all work is performed in compliance with GMP and safety standards. Work is performed in refrigerated (35 45F) and frozen production environments (10 20F). Company will provide all PPE and cold weather gear. This is an entry level Maintenance role with the opportunity to grow in skill and responsibility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Value role model for GMP and food safety procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and facility structures.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical failures
- Troubleshoot conveyors, bearings, chains, belts, and gearboxes
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and parts exchange.
- Independently execute tasks and maintain strong communication with the Maintenance and Production Manager.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency and professionalism, escalating advanced repair needs to Manager.
- Accurately document work performed in CMMS or other documentation methods.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas

- Maintain and manage the spare parts inventory list, ensuring parts are accurately tracked, adequately stocked, and available when needed for maintenance and repairs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High mechanical aptitude and at least 1 year experience in a Maintenance related position.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work safely in 35 45F and 10 20F environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Must be willing and able to work in freezer conditions and assist with packing and other warehouse duties as business needs require.
- Employees must be available to work a flexible schedule, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Shift lengths may vary depending on company needs. The Maintenance Technician is expected to stay on shift as needed to complete essential tasks, which may sometimes extend beyond 8 hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CMMS experience
- Post secondary maintenance or engineering coursework
- PLC/HMI exposure
- Knowledge of CNC machines or industrial saws
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments
