Position Summary

Shift: Full-time position Monday through Thursday may include some OT/weekend/holiday work or Friday production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Track and report equipment downtime, work orders, and parts or supply needs.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Proactively identify and repair equipment and facility issues to minimize downtime and awareness of food and people safety risks to escalate accordingly to supervisor.
  • Set up assigned production and packaging equipment and participate in changeovers.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair electric and mechanical equipment issues at root cause.
  • Be a partner to the operations team by communicating effectively and professionally.
  • Perform routine preventive, proactive, corrective and emergency maintenance activities on all assigned equipment based on technical and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) maintenance requirements.
  • Other supporting duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work on weekends and holidays
  • Lift 15 to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
  • Stand and walk for extended periods with or without accommodation
  • Climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without accommodation
  • Knowledge and ability to work in a GMP environment
  • Good positive communication skills
  • Must be a Team Player Experience in working in team based environments.

Skills/Qualifications/Education:

  • 2+ years as an industrial maintenance mechanic or technician
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in the packaged food or beverage industry
  • Lock out/Tag out
  • Experience with mechanical systems, such as gear boxes, bearings, chains, motors, sprockets, and seals.
  • Experience troubleshooting pneumatics solenoids, compressed air system.
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, finding root cause.
  • Experience with basic electrical systems, such as tarters, fuses, contacts, relays.
  • Experience reading product manuals and applying knowledge for repairs.
  • Low and high voltage troubleshooting knowledge: Control voltages, I/O, single phase source power, and 3 phase source power. Proficient with a multi meter
  • General facility repair knowledge floors, walls, light plumbing, drains, & lighting
  • Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC troubleshooting experience a plus
  • Fabrication/machining/welding skills a plus
