Valley Milk, LLC is a state-of-the-art 24/7/365 powdered milk ingredient processing facility on a 30-acre site in Turlock, CA. The plant is designed for and has capacity to process 2.5 MM pounds of raw milk per day. The company is owned by a highly successful group of dairy farmers and related dairy professionals.
Our mission is to be a world class dairy ingredient processor and marketer of premium milk powders with emphasis on quality, food safety, and profitability. Valley Milk sources 100% of its raw milk requirements from designated dairies owned and operated by the founding families, from over 34,000 cows within a 45-mile radius of our plant location.
The Maintenance Procurement Clerk provides administrative support for the Maintenance Team.
Job Duties
- Procurement Management:
- Identify and source suppliers for maintenance parts, tools, and equipment.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Place purchase orders for maintenance supplies and track order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve any issues related to deliveries or product quality.
- Inventory Control:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of maintenance supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and update records to reflect current stock.
- Reorder supplies as necessary to prevent shortages and disruptions in maintenance operations.
- Record Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, including purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Ensure documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on procurement activities, inventory levels, and cost analysis.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with maintenance technicians and managers to understand their supply needs.
- Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of ordered items.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to procurement and inventory.
- Cost Management:
- Assist in monitoring and controlling procurement costs to stay within budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in the procurement process.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all procurement practices adhere to food safety standards and industry regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements related to maintenance supplies in a food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or a related role, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional standing, walking, and climbing as needed to inspect inventory or facilities.
Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment with occasional exposure to a manufacturing floor.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work depending on procurement needs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
The Maintenance Procurement Clerk is a full-time, non-exempt/hourly position and reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The regular work schedule for the position is M - F, 6:00am to 2:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Schedule may change based on business need.
- Strong data entry computer skills, with high degree of accuracy.
- Must be able to operate a forklift. 1 year experience preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Candidates must demonstrate current US work status eligibility.
