GENERAL SUMMARY
Install, maintain, and support instruments and control systems used for industrial manufacturing processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with sensors, control valves, actuators, PLC, HMI, motion control systems and related automation equipment.
Optimize control strategies and equipment performance.
Document trouble-shooting steps, repairs, and improvements in maintenance management systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable electrical codes.
Support manufacturing lines to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.
Assist in preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability, throughput, and yields.
Trouble-shoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation systems on production equipment.
Resolve PLC, HMI, sensor, motion control, and electrical issues.
Respond to equipment work requests promptly to ensure maximum uptime and overall equipment effectiveness.
Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Assist in commissioning new equipment and validating process changes.
Assists upper management with special projects as requested.
Communicate with personnel from various departments.
Other potential electronic-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Associate?s degree from technical or trade school preferred; or 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training related to electronics in a manufacturing setting.
Food packaging equipment
o Roll stock machines (ie. Rapid Pac, Harpac, Multivac, Cryovac)
Food processing equipment
o Injection equipment
o Smoke houses
o Metal Detectors
o X-Ray equipment
o Labeling equipment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no current supervisory responsibilities for this position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Knowledge of applicable computer programs. Ability to collaborate with equipment process engineers, onsite management, operators, co-workers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve / trouble-shoot practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, PLC?s and Ladder Logics, and VFD programming.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
