Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- 5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- PLC and logic controls for high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- SAP or similar production environment systems are a plus.
- Asset Reliability and preventive maintenance strategies.
Senior Maintenance Manager
Overview:
The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance, including facilities, utilities, and operations, with a focus on minimizing downtime and driving peak operational efficiency. This role leads all capital engineering projects from design to completion and partners with vendors as needed. The Senior Maintenance Manager directly supervises the Maintenance team and works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure high performance across all maintenance functions.
This position plays a critical role in supporting food safety and product quality standards while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members to strengthen skills and enhance performance.
- Establish clear objectives, standard operating procedures, and performance standards within the maintenance department.
Operations & Process Management
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure adherence to company standards and operational targets.
- Provide maintenance support across all operational departments, including work order and PM scheduling, equipment troubleshooting, and program development.
- Lead capital engineering projects from planning and design through to execution and completion.
- Support plant policies and procedures to achieve maintenance and operational goals.
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Utilize technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment to optimize operations and minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics to ensure proper maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Oversee and maintain air compressors, HVAC systems, and refrigeration systems.
Administrative & Reporting
- Monitor and control MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) spend, implementing cost-saving initiatives and effective inventory management practices.
- Prepare and deliver weekly, quarterly, and annual performance reports as required.
- Set criteria for assessing quality of work performed by internal teams and contractors.
- Independently prioritize assignments and manage time effectively to meet business needs.
