3RD SHIFT
General Description
The Alvey Technician is responsible for themaintenance, repair, and optimization of Alvey conveyor systems and plant-wide electronic equipment. This role supports production by ensuring automation equipment runs reliably, safely, and efficiently. The technician must be a motivated self-starter capable of learning quickly, especially regardingstate and federal scale codes, and applying creative engineering solutions that improve production and reduce cost.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repairAlvey conveyor and automation systems, including sensors, controls, and communication devices.
- Diagnose and repairprinters and labelers(direct and thermal transfer).
- Diagnose and repairindustrial scalesin accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Install and troubleshootmetal detection systems.
- Program and maintainHMI software(Wonderware, RSView).
- Install and diagnosevariable-frequency drives (VFDs)andservo drives.
- Work withAC and DC electrical systemsfor equipment repair and installation.
- Performcomponent-level electronics troubleshooting(preferred).
- Supportbarcode printing and scanningsystems.
- Complete assigned projects and respond to production support needs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Solid mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College or technical training preferred.
