The
Sanitation Supervisoris responsible for overseeing all sanitation activities within the plant to ensure that equipment, production areas, and surrounding environments are properly cleaned and sanitized.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate daily sanitation operations, including pre-operational and post-operational cleaning.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, OSHA, and company food safety and sanitation standards.
- Train, coach, and manage sanitation team members on proper cleaning procedures, chemical usage, and safety protocols.
- Inspect equipment and facility areas to verify cleanliness and readiness for production.
- Maintain and monitor sanitation schedules, logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to resolve sanitation-related issues.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals.
- Lead corrective actions in response to audit findings, non-compliance issues, or contamination risks.
- Monitor and control pest management activities in coordination with external vendors.
- Promote a culture of safety, cleanliness, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in sanitation or food processing, preferably in poultry or meat processing.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP principles, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Work Environment- Exposure to cold temperatures, high humidity, and strong odors.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- May require flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
