TheSafety Supervisoris responsible for supporting the safety and health processes within the local organization. This individual will assist the safety manager in leading the safety and health efforts within the plant, which includes the implementation and maintenance of a safety management system. The position of Safety Specialist reports directly to the Safety Manager and has the responsibility to assist in the implementation and evaluation of critical safety processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to compliance as well as injury reduction.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an accredited university or college.
- 2 to 4 years of occupational safety and health experience in industrial operations.
- Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations as well as relevant consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA).
- Knowledge of Behavioral Safety Auditing techniques.
- Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis education or experience.
- Ability to coach and train employees.
