This person ensures a safe and quality (Coffee and Tea) product by performing continuous inspection and testing for compliance within established policies and procedures. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to assist in maintaining and improving the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance. Works effectively and efficiently with production, shipping and quality teams.
Responsibilities:
- Performs inspections and testing of packaged products for weight, packaging integrity, product identification and cut size if applicable.
- Performs inspections (via RedZone or paper logs) on all finished products for package seal integrity, correct product labeling, UPC bar codes/Lot codes, product integrity and piece count accuracy.
- Finished Product testing completed as required.
- Completes production quantities for ERP system. Releases lots for shipping or places holds if inspection results are unacceptable.
- Assists with implementation of SQF programs, GMPs, master sanitation schedules, self-audits, external audits and traceability.
- Prints labels based on production needs.
- Preoperational inspection and support to production teams as needed.
- Coordinates internal inspection by QA and Marketing teams of plant trials, subsequent line checks are completed, logs maintained.
- Acts as the liaison between Production Teams and QA team.
- Ensures correct processes are followed for adherence to food safety plan.
- All other job-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience preferred in quality assurance in a food production environment.
- Familiarity with FDA requirements related to food safety a plus.
- Must possess basic computer skills especially with MS office programs.
- Must possess excellent record keeping, math, filing and organizational skills.
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and analytically inclined preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must have flexibility and self-motivation to take on new projects as assigned.
- Self-directed, comfortable in manufacturing setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
The wage range for this position is $21.25-$32.01 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
