Meat Operations Manager

Food Talent Solutions has partnered with an established regional grocery organization seeking a Meat Operations Manager to lead its commissary meat production operation in Joliet, Illinois.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will oversee approximately 30 employees producing ground beef, burgers, portioned meats, marinated products, and other value-added items distributed to the company?s retail locations.
Key Role Information
- Lead a Monday Friday, single-shift meat production operation
- Manage and develop a team of approximately 30 employees
- Oversee grinding, portioning, marination, packaging, and related processes
- Maintain a hands-on, visible presence throughout the production area
- Drive improvements across food safety, sanitation, yields, labor, waste, and product quality
- Support meat purchasing, supplier relationships, specifications, and inventory planning
- Implement operating and food-safety practices consistent with strong USDA meat-processing standards
- Partner directly with the CEO on operational improvements and new-product innovation

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, grocery commissary operations, or high-volume retail meat production. Experience with raw meat production, purchasing, yields, cost management, and value-added product development is strongly preferred.
