Peco Foods' Summer Internship Programoffers college students hands-on experience with the technology systems that support a large-scale poultry processing facility.
As an
IT Technician Intern, you'll work alongside experienced IT professionals, troubleshoot technical issues, explore IT systems and infrastructure, and contribute to projects that support business and production operations. You'll develop practical technical skills, apply classroom knowledge, and explore career opportunities in information technology.
What You'll ExperienceThroughout the internship, you'll work closely with IT professionals while following company safety, information security, and operational procedures.
- Gain hands-on IT support experienceby troubleshooting technical issues, assisting end users, and supporting technology systems essential to daily operations.
- Explore IT systems and infrastructurethrough exposure to computer hardware, software applications, networking equipment, and manufacturing technologies.
- Develop technical and troubleshooting skillsby assisting with computer setup and configuration, software installations, equipment maintenance, and technical support requests.
- Build communication and problem-solving skillsby helping employees resolve technology-related challenges and providing effective technical support.
- Make a meaningful impactby contributing to an IT improvement project and presenting practical recommendations to leadership.
- Understand IT operationsby learning how system reliability, cybersecurity awareness, and technical support contribute to business performance.
- Grow professionallythrough coaching, feedback, and collaboration with experienced IT and manufacturing professionals.
- Experience a real-world manufacturing environmentthrough assignments in office and production areas that may involve supporting equipment throughout the facility and performing physically active tasks.
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for motivated, technically minded college students who are eager to learn, take initiative, and gain practical IT experience.
Qualifications:- Currently enrolled full-time in college during the semester preceding the internship.
- Upcoming sophomore, junior, senior, or grad student in good academic standing.
- Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and an interest in computer systems, networking, and IT support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Successful completion of the interview and selection process.
