Support Operational Excellence journey by leading the coordination with the local site team (as assigned) in their focus on continuous improvement / lean initiatives in the reduction of waste / NVA activities
Support Safety First culture by working closely with the site team(s) (as assigned) in driving their safety and health initiatives in alignment with goal of
Zero Incidents
while assuring compliance with all applicable Local, State and Federal Laws.
Support Sustainability Program by coordinating and working closely with the site team(s) (as assigned) in driving their sustainability initiatives in alignment in delivering Company targets.
Support in the development of CI, H&S and Sustainability programs
Assist site teams in advancing the maturity of their cultures by working with site leaders and shop floor personnel to implement the programs.
Lead Projects as assigned
Utilize lean management / lean six sigma tools methods to build continuous improvement capability in the organization and at the site(s) assigned. Assist business units and departments in designing optimal team collaborative problem solving environments with visual management and standard work.
Facilitate the selection, scope, and planning of specific improvement projects, linking process deficiencies directly to the bottom line.
Follow up on progress to ensure results are achieved and sustained. Resolve implementation issues, creating and managing implementation communication processes, and ensuring consistency of implemented processes and programs.
Assist sites in implementation plans, identification of metrics to define success and establish visual management and visual controls. Improve sustainability of improvement with the development of post-implementation controls.
Identify and coordinate, as applicable, US continuous improvement and waste reduction activities/opportunities at the sites assigned. Assist in meeting the targets set each year.

Key Accountabilities
Operational Excellence:
- Assist in the general development, support and implementation of the AFUS Lean / Operational Excellence Program / Journey (in alignment with the Continuous Improvement Manager & VP Operations).
- Serve as the site champion (as assigned) for Operational Excellence including a focus on continuous improvement and waste reduction
- Identifies specific areas for improvement at the site assigned and throughout the connected Supply Chain determining potential opportunity value and prioritization.
- Develops expertise in Process Management, Problem Solving, Work Place Organization (5S, Visual Management, etc), Standard Work, Measurement and Daily Management and leads / provides site support in implementing and maintaining.
- Assists in developing OE / CI training materials. Trains as applicable.
- Leads / Coordinates workshops to drive improvement in performance / cost reductions.
- Ensures Division / standard work, KPIs and Best Practices are in place and maintained
- Assist the Site Leadership Team in coordinating & improving IEE (Internal Equipment Effectiveness) at the sites assigned
- Facilitates

- Provides technical support and special analysis as requested for all levels of management concerning matters of business process improvement, problem solving, manufacturing operations, supply chain and operational excellence.
- Coordinates with the Site Leadership Team the effective management and execution of the FIS employee suggestion program

Provide technical support for ongoing Value Stream Mapping activities internally or externally with customers
Safety First - Health & Safety:
- Site Champion for a Health & Safety Culture with zero accidents / incidents mentality within support of the Site Leadership Team
- Effectively demonstrate and communicate Safety First principles and values to ensure all team members understand their personal responsibility for achieving Safety Excellence under the Operational Excellence platform at the sites assigned.
- Ensure each individual site (as assigned) is in compliance with H&S policies along with local, State and Federal OSHA laws by working with local site teams.
- Ensure proper Health & Safety training programs are in place at each site location and are conducted according to the Safety programs guidelines by working with the site teams
- Support Safety Manager with local, State and Federal agencies as it relates to Health & Safety. Provide site support as required.
- Assist the site in Investigating thoroughly all accidents, injuries, and near misses to address all contributing factors appropriately to eliminate hazards through management/employee involvement.
Develop preventative / corrective actions with local teams.
- Assist Site Leadership in maintaining and continue to develop the safety committee and its members through meetings and education.
- Ensure project safety reviews are documented for all capital projects before and after completion

Perform job safety and risk analysis as necessary
- Conduct Health & Safety audits at site locations (as assigned) identifying issues and compliance gaps. Recommend solutions to minimize or eliminate the risks. Facilitate the follow up on corrective actions to assure timely response. Audits should include visual observation, interviews, and review of records.
- Assist and identify any necessary industrial hygiene studies needed to assure compliance in hearing conservation, air contaminants, ventilation, and ergonomics
Sustainability:
- Assist Site Leadership in reducing Water & energy usage in line with targets
- Assist Site Leadership and US Engineering in the development & implementation of REC projects. Lead initiatives as assigned
- Support SMETA / SEDEX site audits as requested
- Support Customer sustainability programs / initiatives as requested
- Identify, lead and implement sustainability initiatives in line with AFUS sustainability program
Other
- Educate self on existing and new regulations through personal research and outside resources (Safety, Health & Sustainability).
- Comply with the applicable compliance guidelines and The Code of Conduct
- Anything else assigned as related to the core responsibilities
Education / experience / personal traits:
BS in engineering or similar. Technical foundation is desired.
BS in Industrial Engineering a .plus
Masters in Operational Excellence or Health & Safety a plus.
Strong knowledge in Toyota Production Systems (TPS), Lean and / or Six Sigma concepts / methodologies required. Green Belt or Black Belt from an accredited program a plus.
Health & Safety knowledge and experience, including foundational OSHA knowledge.
2-5 years experience leading Continuous Improvement Projects and / or Kaizen events.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently in a team-oriented environment. Must be comfortable leading without having direct management of team members. Ability to effectively influence Plant leaders and shopfloor personnel.
Ability to facilitate and lead cross-functional teams to deliver targted objectives.
Ability to understand, analyze and arrange data and metrics into concise and meaningful communications and presentations for leadership?s use and understanding (quantitative, analytical and data management skills, along with project management skills are needed).
Ability to quickly learn and grow in areas of responsibility (CI, Safety and Sustainability) to assure job requirements are met.
Previous Project Management experience.
Languages: Fluent in English (writing and verbal) required. Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
