Education/Background:

  • Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or Related Fields:Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Continuous Improvement Expertise:Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.
  • 5+ Years of Progressive Leadership:Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing environment.

Summary:

  • Cost Improvement Strategies:Implement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Production Scheduling:Collaborate with the planning department to develop and adjust production schedules that meet internal and external demands.
  • Team Engagement:Foster a positive working environment by maintaining effective communication, visibility, and involvement with team members to maximize safety, employee engagement, productivity, and throughput.
  • Leadership and Development:Guide supervisors on team member coaching, development, employment decisions, and conflict resolution.
  • Preventative Maintenance Coordination:Work closely with Maintenance Department leadership to plan and execute preventative maintenance on production lines.
  • Performance Reporting:Analyze and submit reports on production metrics, including output, downtime, attendance, overtime, and quality checks, to the Plant Manager.
  • Budget and Forecast Collaboration:Partner with the Plant Director and Planning Department to develop and manage the Production Department budget and forecast.
  • Process and Quality Improvement:Recommend and implement strategies to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Capital Equipment Justification:Develop justifications for capital investments in machine upgrades and process technology to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
  • Efficiency Optimization:Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment usage to increase the efficiency of department personnel.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration:Interface with multiple departments to consistently meet customer deadlines.
  • Safety Leadership:Collaborate with plant leadership to champion a world-class safety culture, adhering to the highest standards of safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Inventory and Supplier Management:Work with raw material planners to ensure inventory levels align with production schedules, and escalate supplier quality issues to prevent customer shortages.
  • Quality Partnership:Collaborate with the Quality Department to prevent and resolve issues related to Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non-Conforming Raw Materials.
