Term:Full time - 40 hours
Hourly:Starting at $24/hr, will consider adjustment based on experience

About the Role:We are seeking a butcher to join our small-scale butcher shop. We would prefer a candidate with experience andare willing to providefurther training. This person will play a crucial role in the processing and preparation of beef and hogs every week while adhering to USDA regulations and maintaining high quality and safety standards. This person must also be a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Break down 3-4 beef and 3 hogs weekly into primal, sub primals and retail cuts
- Cut, trim, grind, weigh, label and package meat for retail sale
- Value added - prepare casings and make sausage as well as smoking
- Assist with end of day wash down of processing rooms and equipment
- Uphold food safety and sanitation protocols at all times and work in accordance with HACCP standards
Qualifications, preferred 2 years minimum related experience:
- Knowledge of meat processing technique, cuts and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- High standards for cleanliness and presentation
- Excellent knife skills and manual dexterity
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, English preferred, Spanish a plus
Working Conditions/Physical Abilities:
- Stand for 8+ hours
- Work in a cold environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds from the ground and/or from over head
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
