Our client is 90+ year old family-owned pet food manufacturer seeking to build out their technical capabilities to ensure world-class quality and food safety. We are seeking a dual use Corporate Microbiologist to drive laboratory and plant level continuous improvements. This position will report to their VP QAFS and have significant visibility throughout the organization.
As the Corporate Microbiologist, you will significantly contribute to all food safety initiatives. These will include:
Overall management of microbiology lab, personnel and budget.
Provide insight and improvements to sampling programs including environmental.
Provide in-plant analysis and improvements to sanitary design and hygienic process.
The position requires a minimum of a BS degree in Microbiology, Food Science or similar with at least 5+ years of experience working in food manufacturing with pet food manufacturing being ideal. Must have a strong analytical approach to programmatic development and improvement. Ability to travel up to 25% as needed. This is an onsite position and will require relocation to the corporate office in E. TX.
Base salary will be commensurate to experience and ability to contribute effectively. Relocation assistance provided.
