Turano Baking Company is a family-owned bakery with over 60 years of experience producing high-quality breads and rolls for customers across the country. We are looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our production team in a fast-paced bakery environment.
This role is critical to keeping production running efficiently and ensuring our products meet quality and safety standards.
Position Summary
The Bakery Production Associate supports all aspects of production, including preparing, assembling, and packaging baked goods. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, safety, and consistency.
This is a hands-on position in a hot bakery environment and requires physical stamina, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Work Environment
- Commercial bakery setting with elevated temperatures (hot environment near ovens and production lines)
- Fast-paced, high-volume production environment
- Continuous standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motion required
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work any shift as needed (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift)
- Weekends and holidays required
- Overtime available, with potential to work up to 60 hours per week based on production needs
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of baked goods according to company standards
- Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, slicers) safely and efficiently
- Package finished products accurately, including counts, labeling, and presentation
- Inspect product for quality and remove any damaged or substandard items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements
- Support team members and assist with additional tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred (food production a plus)
- Ability to work in a hot environment for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Dependable, reliable, and able to work in a team environment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on production needs
