Key Responsibilities as the Shipping Manager:
- Manage thedaily operations of shippingand ensure customer needs are met
- Coordinate the daily operations of asecondary location remotely
- Championsafety and compliancethroughout the shipping operation
- Overseeinventory cycle countingand investigate significant variances
- Standardize processes to improvecustomer satisfaction, efficiency and warehouse utilization
- Train, direct and evaluate employees, manage schedules and address employee concerns within acollective bargaining agreement
- Partner closely withProduction, Inside Sales and external business partners
- Build strong relationships through respectful, effective communication.
Minimum requirements for this Shipping Manager position:
- Bachelor?s degreein Business Administration, Logistics or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Extensive experience with anERP system
- Experience in a unionized work place
- Experience coordinatingdelivery schedules, multi-stop shipments and outside carriers
- Strong knowledge ofMicrosoft Office
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong adaptability and customer-focused problem-solving skills.
