Position Overview
The CDL Driver is responsible for transporting goods, raw materials, and finished products between company facilities and designated locations. This role supports daily logistics operations, ensures timely deliveries, and upholds all safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport goods between company facilities and external locations using company vehicles.
- Move trailers within the Tappan facility to support efficient loading and unloading.
- Load and unload trailers using a forklift or electric pallet jack as needed.
- Transport raw materials (boxed items) safely and efficiently between locations.
- Complete over-the-road deliveries, including pick-ups of additional materials.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. Maintenance & Documentation
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with DOT and company standards.
- Document all inspection findings accurately and submit reports to the Logistics Representative or Manager.
- Report vehicle or equipment issues promptly to the Logistics Representative or Manager and follow instructions regarding transporting the vehicle to an approved external repair shop.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior to ensure safety, sanitation, and professional presentation.
- Refuel trucks as needed during daily operations and ensure fuel levels are adequate for scheduled routes.
- Document all fuel purchases and usage in accordance with company procedures.
- Remove snow and ice from trucks and trailers to ensure safe operation, clear visibility, and proper trailer connection before driving.
- Complete all required delivery logs, inspection forms, and transportation documents accurately and on time.
- Ensure proper documentation for pick-ups, deliveries, and material transfers, including bills of lading and receiving paperwork.
- Use company systems or logs to track mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance-related entries as required.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Logistics Representative to coordinate daily delivery schedules, trailer movements, and material transfers.
- Communicate regularly with Shipping & Receiving, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure accurate and timely movement of goods.
- Partner with Dispatch to confirm routes, delivery windows, and any schedule changes.
- Maintain professional, cooperative working relationships with all internal departments and external partners encountered during deliveries or service appointments.
- Collaborate with Shipping leadership to ensure the correct trailers are properly plugged in and ready for use.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including loading and unloading when required.
- Strong understanding of transportation safety standards and DOT regulations.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps.

- Work is performed in a manufacturing, warehouse, and loading dock environment, as well as on the road during deliveries.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas and outdoor weather conditions.
- Frequent movement between facilities, trailers, and warehouse areas.
- Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on equipment and production activity.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in certain areas.
- Fast-paced environment with time-sensitive delivery and loading schedules.
