This role covers a mix of tasks on the production line, like drilling, filling, sorting, and inspecting or packaging products. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working on their own or as part of a team. Once you’ve learned the ropes, there’s a chance to move up to roles like Machine Operator or even explore other departments here at McCain!   What you’ll be doing. 
  • Perform various tasks that include, but are not limited to drilling, filling, inspecting, sorting, and packaging of food products to meet quality specifications and quantity standards  
  • Inspect all products, raw and finished, for use according to quality specifications and communicate any discrepancies to appropriate personnel   
  • Perform sanitation on assigned equipment and work area  
  • Backfill for operators. Duties include setting up equipment, start-up and shutdowns, monitoring production and troubleshooting as needed, and complete quality checks on assigned equipment and work areas   
  • Make necessary adjustments to equipment to meet company standards and product specifications and communicate operational problems and equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel   
  • Perform assignments in accordance with established food safety and quality policies, including all USDA, FDA, and WDA guidelines, procedures, and work instructions  
  • Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned work sites  
  • Accurate and timely completion of required documentation  
  • Perform sanitation duties including using chemicals, setting up and tearing down equipment and inspecting equipment    
  • Follow proper safety and GMP guidelines  
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by line leader and supervisor   
  What you’ll need to be successful.  
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.   
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions both written and oral as well as read and interpret schedules related to production/ product schedules and line changeovers.   
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization. Must be able to enter data into a computer.   
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 35 pounds.  
  • Physical Demand: 
  •  Constant: use and movement of hands and standing on regularly scheduled shift.  
  • Frequently: Bending, grasping hands, and reaching for up to 3 -6 hours daily.   
  • Occasionally: Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
